Celebrate

Hello everyone! It's Amber here with another Themed Thursday Post. For this weeks theme I'm sharing two Celebration cards that are very much alike but different.  For my two cards I used Paper Wings Productions Text & Muertos Cling Stamp Sets and the Banner Day Clear Stamp Set.

I used the same layout for both cards but changed them up by using different colored cardstock, different focal point stamps, and different Text background stamps. This is a great way to make a set of cards, you can use the same layout but make every card in the set a little different with out having to pull out a million different supplies.

Before I go I thought I would recap a few things that were announced earlier this week. On Monday Carrie announced the new design team, unveiled the new Paper Wings Productions website and shared a few new cling stamp sets that are now available in the shop. You can check all that out HERE.  If that wasn't exciting enough on Tuesday Norma shared this fabulous stamping and embossing technique using gelatos, you can check that out HERE.

We would love to see what you make with Paper Wings Productions Stamps so add your projects to our Flickr Group, Pinterest, Facebook, or leave a comment with a link to your project. Thanks for visiting today!

Feature Friday - June Nesting Components ATCs

TGIF! Dana here sharing one last project with the June Nesting Components Mixed Media Kit. I had some fun with the clip art sheet and created a set of vacation themed artist trading cards.

I had some manila ATCs and gesso left over from my April Kit. After cutting some clip art images from the sheet and adhering them to ATCs, I applied a light coat of gesso to the pictures to help make individual images pop.

I added clouds to each image with the Cloudy Cling Stamp Set and the Rich Cocoa Memento ink. I then highlighted the edges of each ATC with Distress Ink.

I embellished each ATC with the twine, label stickers, journal cards and alphabet stickers from the kit.

The June Nesting Components Mixed Media Kit is still available from the Paper Wings Productions Store! It's perfect for all your Summer crafting!

Here's another look at the other projects that I created with this kit:

What's Up Wednesday - Hope in Colorado!

Hi everyone!  Tara C. here with a What's Up Wednesday post.  The big news around here has been the Black Forest Fire in Colorado.  This has hit super close to home for us.  We are 12 miles from the fire and about 4-5 miles from the closest evacuation area.  Lots of friends have been evacuated and sadly, many have lost their homes and everything they own. On a more happy note, the fire is almost completely out today!

This would be a perfect little card to go along with a care basket for the evacuees, filled with things they may have been too rushed to grab when they left home.  I knew this sentiment would be perfect  because the burn area looks like total devastation and when you lose your home you feel as if everything is gone. The bright colors and cheery sun will bring some light into someone's life.

For this sweet little collage I used a few different Paper Wings Productions stamp sets.  The Backgrounds set was used on the background, the large cloud and the sentiment banner.  The Double Dot Border set was used on the small clouds and the sun and sentiment are from the Earth and Sky set. I marked black "stitches" around the clouds and added some fun red rickrack and a few shiny white sequins.

The inside shows more of the background stamp, another sun and more happy clouds!

Thanks for visiting us today!  We would love to see what you create with Paper wings Productions stamps.  Show us on our Pinterest page, our Facebook page or our Flickr gallery.  You can also leave a comment with a link to your project.

Armed & Dangerous Mixed Media Layout

Hello everyone, its Amber here sharing a layout for this weeks Mixed Media post. Today I am using the Snapshot Framer Clear Stamp Set, some Studio Calico Patterned Paper, a large vellum quote, and a butterfly embellishment along with a few other supplies.

 This is a 12x12 layout that uses a 5 x 6 photo and a smaller 1 3/4 x 2 1/2 photo. That blued eyed cutie is my cat Pookie.

I used the frame from the Snapshot Framer set and added a smaller photo behind it and then stamped Monday under the photo.

I continued the rest of the weekdays under my patterned paper.

We would love to see what you make with Paper Wings Productions Stamps so add your projects to our Flickr Group, to Pinterest, or leave a comment with a link to your project. Thanks for visiting today!

Themed Thursday - gift for Dad!

Hi everyone! Tara C. here to share a Themed Thursday with you. As you know, Father's Day is coming up this Sunday. Hopefully you all have your gifts ready to go but I have a post for you in case you need a bit of last minute inspiration.

Gift cards are always a perfect fit, especially for those men in your life that are hard to buy for or already have everything. And what man doesn't appreciate some fancy packaging!

This cute little gift card holder was, in it's former life, a spice tin from World Market but I knew it had a lot more life in it! I used my most manly Paper Wings Productions stamp set, the ever adorable and dapper Marcel, to create a Happy Father's Day cover. All of the paper is from Stampin' Up! as well as the metal accents. The bingo card is from Theresa Collins and is normally larger that this one but I resized it on my printer to make it small enough to fit the top of the tin. I stamped and then cut Marcel out and popped him off a background of his cane and bow tie and gave him a fancy little hat to wear. The banner is my favorite part and the sentiments in the set are perfectly fitting.

A close up of the edge of the tin with some masculine metal accents!

The card is a mini designed to fit inside along with the gift card. I used the same papers and added some die cut letters along with another banner and sweet sentiment to celebrate all the good things our dads do for us!
That's it for today! Thanks for visiting and be sure and come back next week for more exciting creations from the Paper Wings Productions Flight Attendants!

Tutorial Tuesday: Border Stamps for Dad

Hello there peeps!

It's Shay here.  Did you enjoy this month's Summer Fun blog hop?  I sure did.  I thought the design team did an amazing job.  If you haven't had a chance to check out the projects, I strongly recommend hopping along.

Today I have a simple tutorial on using the border stamps to create two cards dedicated to the dads in our lives.

I was looking at two of the borders: lace border stamp and triangle border stamp and I saw something interesting.  Let's see if you can figure out what I saw too.

1. Stamp borders.

2. Cut out borders.

3. On watercolor paper stamp border with Versamark.

4. Heat emboss border with white embossing powder.

5. Add water to Distress Ink.  I smeared the ink pad onto my craft sheet.  Paint in the image.  You can lighten the image by dabbing it with a paper towel and/or adding water.

6. By using watercolor paper, you can add as much color and water as you desire to get the look you want.

Did you guess how I used the lace border stamp and triangle border stamp?   Now you can see if you were right.

7. The card.   The lace border stamp looked like d's to me while the triangle border looked like a's.  So I cut out individual scallops and triangles to spell out "dad".  I edged the letters with ink and used a marker to add some definition.  The leaf panel was edged with dark green ink.  I adhered the dad and leaf panel with dimensional adhesive.  Under the leaf panel is a strip of patterned paper on a white card base.

And here is another groovy 70's vibe card using the same elements but featuring the zig zag border stamp:

That's it from me today.  I hope you have a brilliant week and have a fantastic father's day weekend celebrating the father figures in your life.

We would *love* to see what you make with Paper Wings Productions stamps. Add your projects to Facebook, our flickr group, to Pinterest, comment with a link on this post or even email pictures to us!

Take flight,
Shay.
